How to Broadcast a Desktop Website to a TV (from Your Phone or the TV Itself)

Option 1: Broadcasting from Your Phone to the TV

If you’re on the go and want a quick way to display your leaderboard, casting from your phone is a great option.

What You’ll Need:

  • A smart TV or a TV with a streaming device (like Roku, Fire Stick, Apple TV, or Chromecast)

  • Your phone or tablet (iOS or Android)

  • A strong Wi-Fi connection (same network for both phone and TV)

  • Disable Auto-Lock on your device to prevent your screen going dark (see Step 4)

Steps:

1. Open Your Leaderboard on Your Phone

  • Use the link structure: app.mysetmusic.com/leaderboard/idartist
    • Your id artist number can be found in the email sent to you when you first sign up. It came from [email protected] email address. Any questions on this, email us and we’ll send you your leaderboard link.
  • Load your site in a browser like Chrome or Safari.

2. Disable Auto-Lock on your Device

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap Display & Brightness.
  • Tap Auto-Lock.
  • Select Never.

That’s it — your iPhone screen will now stay on indefinitely unless you lock it manually.

Note: If your iPhone is in Low Power Mode, the Auto-Lock setting is forced to 30 seconds. You’ll need to:

  • Go to Settings > Battery
  • Turn off Low Power Mode first

3. Cast Your Screen

  • On iPhone: Swipe down for Control Center → Tap Screen Mirroring → Select your TV.

  • On Android: Swipe down for Quick Settings → Tap Cast or Smart View → Choose your TV.

4. Rotate to Landscape

Pro Tip: If you get stuck on the mobile view, switch your browser to “Desktop Site” mode. To do this tap the browser options menu (the Aa in the address bar) and select “Request Desktop Site”.

Option 2: Use the TV’s Built-In Browser (e.g., Orange Door, WebOS, or Android TV)

If your TV has built-in software like Orange Door, WebOS, or Android TV, you can launch your site directly from the device—no phone required.

Steps:

1. Launch the TV’s Browser App

  • Navigate to the browser app on your smart TV or entertainment platform (like Orange Door, etc).

2. Enter the Website URL

  • Use the remote to type in the full web address of your leaderboard link.

3. Bookmark for Quick Access

  • If available, add the site to your favorites or home screen so it’s ready whenever you need it.

4. Set to Full Screen Mode

  • Most browsers will let you go full screen for a clean display. Look for a full-screen icon or press the appropriate button on your remote.

Bonus Tips

  • Keep It Plugged In: If you’re casting from a phone, make sure it’s charging or has enough battery for the session.
